System Technician
Applicants MUST currently hold a Secret government clearance. This position will be in-person; applicant must be able to commute.
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled System Technician to join our team. The Technician must have the ability/experience to operate a front-end computer workstation (Windows) and programs (Microsoft Outlook) sufficiently to receive and respond to email inquiries. The Technician must possess working knowledge of automated programs (Microsoft Excel) for tracking equipment usage, malfunctions, and scheduled routine maintenance. The Technician must possess interpersonal communication skills for the purposes of dealing with equipment vendors, service technicians, end users, and designated customer activity representatives. The Technician must possess knowledge of equipment operations for start-up and entering equipment commands in a variety of media; knowledge of prescribed minor and routine equipment maintenance requirements; and ability to represent the organization professionally for customer service purposes by phone, via email, and in-person.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency with Laptop and/or desktop computer running Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating system or newer
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat DC Professional
- Proficiency with Quite Imposing software
- Proficiency with desktop scanning equipment and indexing processes for scanned documents
- Expertise in operating high speed electronic digital printers
- Expertise in operating CD/DVD/Blu-Ray duplicators
- Expertise in binding and finishing equipment, collator, cutter, booklet maker, drill, jogger, folder
- Ability to interface with customers, assist with preparation of job orders and provide technical consultation with customers
- Knowledge of proper handling of classified Material
- Keep up with training as soon as it becomes available
- Maintain a clean workspace and shop daily
- Ability to work with other co-workers, leads, and supervisors

- Able to estimate work, determine paper weight needed to process the job, and identify binding options to complete each job.
Digital Print Production: The Contractor shall operate high-speed copier/duplicating equipment to include retrieving digital input, collating, stapling, reduction, enlargement, and proper sequence of output. The Contractor shall effectively prepare and troubleshoot various file formats and change to PDF print-ready status. The Contractor shall operate CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Duplication equipment using provided media or digital downloadable content to duplicate to a specified media to include supporting provided disc artwork, disc sleeve/jewel case artwork, and insertion of disc. The Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that all work produced is in accordance with the job requirements and customer’s quality expectations. The Contractor shall run orders on time while maximizing the machines’ productivity. The Contractor shall review all job orders and printing requests for job specifications. The Contractor shall set duplicating equipment controls to accomplish desired output. The Contractor shall select appropriate paper or card stock and properly adjust and load appropriate duplicating equipment. The Contractor shall set up, adjust, and operate bindery equipment to perform repetitive stapling, drilling, folding, punching, padding, plastic binding, thermal binding, wrapping, and hand collating operations. The Contractor shall set up and operate paper cutters. The Contractor shall keep records of production units for production and billing purposes. The Contractor shall perform occasional preventive maintenance of the copier and duplicating equipment. The Contractor shall spot check completed jobs against the job order for quality, quantity and sequential accuracy. The Contractor shall forward and or assist with completed projects to the appropriate area for distribution or package finished products (may require occasional lifting of objects and/or packages weighing up to fifty pounds). The Contractor shall properly use and care for all equipment in compliance with operating instructions; use machine log/call list and escalation process to schedule machine and equipment maintenance/repair. The contractor shall follow all established safety/security procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Scanning and Conversion: The Contractor shall perform document preparation, involving the removing of staples, clips, bindings, and fixing dog-eared pages. The Contractor shall scan various size pages at a resolution of 300 DPI or greater using various profile settings established for specific document types (photos, halftones, b/w, color, etc.). The Contractor shall perform optical character recognition (OCR) processing as required on scanned images. The Contractor shall perform indexing of electronic documents as required to include all required metadata. The Contractor shall perform 100% QA to ensure that hardcopy documents are electronically captured, and the images are equal to or exceed the quality of the hardcopy document.
Customer Service/Administrative: The Contractor shall perform customer service related to responding to routine questions via telephone, email/written correspondence, or in person. The Contractor shall maintain records of work completed, ensure production units are recorded for billing, and notify designated government and/or customer representative(s) of job completion. The Contractor shall perform administrative taskings related to inputting data to spreadsheets, e-mail correspondence, and production reporting as needed. Follow all established safety/security procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Proper Handling of Classified Material: The Contractor is to ensure proper handling and established procedures are always used and adhered to when handling classified material. The Contractor will enforce only those with need to know are allowed in the area when classified material is being worked. The Contractor will ensure all end of day checks are accomplished for work area and facility.
For Tasks 1 and 2, work is normally performed in a digital print production operation and office environment. Physical demands may include some lifting of boxes and packages weighing up to fifty pounds. The Contractor personnel may be exposed to paper dust, developer and toner chemicals, and low and/or high frequency noise. Some items required for production might be considered hazardous or otherwise sensitive enough to carry Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) warnings and supporting documents. The Contractor shall follow all guidance and safety procedures concerning handling, usage, storing, and reporting.
